A day trip to this famous Buddhist area offers you an interesting boat ride along the beautiful Yen River with the scenery of the Karst mountains, getting to know the local religious practice, and riding a cable car.
At 8:30, your personal guide and private car will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi. After a 2-hour drive out of the city and into the rural area, you start the visit.
Located on the limestone rocks of Huong Son Mountain in beautiful and mystical surroundings is a complex of Pagodas and Buddhist shrines built into the limestone cliffs. The most important and sacred pagoda is situated inside a cave known as Dong Huong Tich ‘The cave of Fragrant Traces’.
To start, you relax on board the rowing boat and set off on a 1-hour journey to Thien Tru Quay. The peaceful scenery along the river is marvelous and impressive.
On arrival at the foot of the mountain in Thien Tru quay, you set off on a cable car ride to the main cave Pagoda. The main pagoda is set in a huge grotto containing a highly decorative shrine with many stalactites and stalagmites. After visiting the pagoda, you trek downhill to the foot for lunch in a restaurant.
After lunch, we go to Thien Tru Pagoda (Heaven Kitchen) to walk around and learn more about Buddhism and take photos before returning to Hanoi.
During Tet (Vietnamese New Year; February – April) and the three months preceding it, the Perfume Pagoda is crowded with pilgrims and travelers and is not recommended. For further details, please contact me.
